Diction can help with most languages
We have interpreters available in most languages. Before you approach us, please clarify which two or more languages the interpreter should be able to handle. Language competence is essential, but in addition, we also want to provide an interpreter who is familiar with the topic being interpreted.
The price depends on the language, location, and duration of the interpretation
Before booking an interpreter, you will be informed of an approximate price for the interpretation. The price is set based on an hourly rate for the interpretation itself. For on-site interpretation, the travel time will be indicated, and if preparation time for the interpreter is necessary, that will also be included.
The final price is confirmed after the interpretation is completed – however, we are usually quite accurate in calculating the price in advance. The price for an interpreter is typically between 600 DKK to 1600 DKK per hour. This will be communicated to you as the client when providing a quote before the interpretation.
Confirmation of location and address
Prior to the interpretation, you should confirm the address and, if necessary, submit directions to the meeting room. We also recommend that the client provides a contact person whom the interpreter can approach with any questions.
Important to know about travel time
For on-site interpretation, the interpreter will have travel time to and from the location. A maximum of half an hour of travel time is calculated. If the travel time is longer, you as the client will be informed in advance. Travel time is compensated per half-hour started. The compensation is half the hourly rate for the interpreter, regardless of the time of day the travel takes place.
Cancellation of an interpretation booking
We want to give our clients flexibility, and therefore we allow cancellation of an interpretation up to 24 hours before the scheduled interpretation. Cancellation thereafter is charged at a minimum of one hour of interpretation, and for interpretations longer than one hour, we charge 50% of the estimated amount for the interpretation.
Price for interpretation in the evening, on weekends, and on public holidays
For interpretation before 8:00 AM and after 5:00 PM, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays and public holidays, the interpretation rates are typically doubled. With good planning (1-2 months in advance), the costs can be kept down – our project manager can help with the planning. If the interpretation starts before 8:00 AM, an increased rate is calculated until the end of the first hour, when the clock passes 8:00 AM. If the interpretation starts before 5:00 PM, an increased rate is calculated after the end of the first hour, when the clock passes 5:00 PM.
Do you need consecutive interpretation, simultaneous interpretation, or whispering interpretation?
There are different ways to interpret, and our project managers are ready to guide you on what you need. In consecutive interpretation, the interpreter first listens, and after a few sentences, the interpreter translates what has been said. Simultaneous interpretation is interpretation that takes place simultaneously. This means that the interpreter translates what is being said while simultaneously hearing what is being said. In whispering interpretation, the interpreter is physically present next to the person being interpreted for and speaks softly/whispers the translation to the recipient.
Consecutive interpretation - the most common interpretation method
In presentations, meetings, court cases, and typically interrogations, consecutive interpretation is performed. The interpreter listens to what is being said and then translates it for the recipient. The message is reproduced as accurately as possible, but it requires that the participants give the interpreter time to speak.
Simultaneous interpretation, also known as conference interpretation
Simultaneous interpretation is performed at the same time as a meeting participant speaks, and therefore it will be necessary to have technical interpretation equipment such as interpretation systems and interpretation booths. The interpreters who work with simultaneous interpretation have special training. It is also customary for the interpreter to interpret into the
